Food Service Assistant - Part Time

Department: C&FS Kitchen Staff
Location: Lowell, MA

The Food Service Assistant is responsible for assisting in all food preparation and supporting kitchen operations within CTIís Child and Family Services Division

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  1. Assist in preparation of snacks and meals for centers, satellite sites and meetings as needed.
  2. Communicate with School Age program to coordinate meal and supply pick-up.
  3. Support satellite kitchen at off site location - LCPA for lunch meal and dishwashing.
  4. Set up, deliver, pick up and break down of meal carts.
  5. Maintain appliance temperature and food temperature logs.
  6. Pack food and supplies for satellite sites as needed.
  7. Maintain clean work areas including prep tables, storage spaces, refrigerators and stoves in accordance with sanitation and safety guidelines.
  8. Wash dishes, pots, and pans and run dish machine.
  9. Assist with inventory, including receiving inventory and stocking of shelves.
  10. Maintain strict food safety and personal hygiene standards.
  11. Attend regular food service meetings and mandatory food service trainings.

  13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in food service operations preferred.
  • General knowledge of food preparation and nutrition.
  • Ability to be a team player in a fast paced environment.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • TB Risk Assessment and/or Mantoux results required annually.
  • Evidence of full COVID-19 vaccination or religious/medical exemption prior to hire
  • Must be able to pass background check which includes fingerprinting
  • Physical Exam and immunizations (2 MMR or positive titer) required.

Education:

High School or Equivalent
