We are seeking a Director of Development who will oversee and implement a comprehensive fundraising program in support of Community Teamwork's programs and services. This position will report to, and work in partnership with the Chief Planning and Development Officer and other members of the Community Teamwork Executive Management Team and volunteers.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Create and execute CTI’s annual fundraising plan to include annual gifts, major gifts, foundation and corporate giving, donor recognition and stewardship, and planned giving opportunities.
     
  • Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, local businesses and other community partners and organizations.
     
  • Develop and implement individualized donor strategies for cultivation and solicitation.
     
  • Attend community events representing Community Teamwork to cultivate and engage donors.
     
  • Provides various degrees of fundraising support to senior leaders and board members to help them cultivate, solicit, and steward donors as appropriate.
     
  • Manage the Community Investment Tax Credit program, including soliciting donors and reporting.
     
  • Plan and execute, in close collaboration with the Chief Planning and Development Officer and Director of Marketing and Communications, fundraising events for the agency and individual programs.
     
  • Ensure establishment of and compliance with the organization's fund development and philanthropic principals, policies, and procedures.
     
  • Work closely with grants staff to ensure a cohesive development strategy.
     
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, maintain accountability standards to donors and ensure compliance with code of ethics principals and standards of professional conduct for fundraising professionals. 
     
  • Ensure tracking and monitoring of donations and fundraising efforts in donor management database.
     
  • Generate reports and analysis of fundraising efforts (direct mail appeals, special events, etc.).
     
  • Reconcile monthly and at fiscal year-end with finance department.
     
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with individual prospects and donors.
     
  • Create and execute a strategy to attract and maintain corporate partners.
     
  • Develop and maintain fluency in Community Teamwork’s mission, vision, and values, as well as programmatic activities and goals.

Qualifications include:

  • 3-5+ years’ experience in a development office, preferably in social or human services, with proven results in fundraising.
  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills, including the ability to produce compelling donor proposals and solicitations.
  • Strong listener with organizational skills and ability to plan, organize and work across teams and with senior management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficient with donor database management; Salesforce experience preferred.
  • Comfortable working independently, and as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle budgetary matters.
  • Strong proven leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of and commitment to serving low income families.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and work with complex governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to effectively supervise, motivate and develop staff.
  • Proficient computer skills required in basic computer software and data collection systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality within the workplace.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekend as needed. 
  • Ability to work effectively with and meet the needs of people from a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and identities, including underserved communities and people from the different racial groups, socioeconomic statuses, nationalities, and languages that make up CTI’s clientele.
