Assistant Teacher - Infant, Toddler and Preschool

Department: C&FS Education
Location: LOWELL, MA

CTI’s Head Start Early Learning Program is seeking full time Assistant Teachers for Infant, Toddler and Preschool. All Assistant Teachers must have a minimum. $20.04 per hour to start.

Starting at $20.00 per hour plus earn unlimited referral fees of $2000 for every teacher referred and hired.

**Hired scheduled hours may change from time to time, so flexibility between 6:30 am -5:30 pm is required**

What you will need to do:

  • Facilitate and support children's participation in experiences and activities of the planned curriculum.
  • Interact with children and their families and Family Services Worker to support their development and learning.
  • Support the implementation of guidance strategies used in the program.
  • Implement health, safety and nutritional plans for individual children and record keeping.
  • Ensure sight and sound supervision and monitoring of children at all times.
  • Ensure classroom compliance with all federal, state and local regulations related to Early Education. This includes compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC Accreditation and MA Department of Early Education and Care regulations.
  • Protect the rights of children and families from abuse and neglect, by working as a liaison between referred families and the Department of Children & Families.

Minimum Entry Level Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: AAS in Early Childhood Education preferred.

OR

  • Licensures:
  • Child Development Associate certification is required. No Child Development Associate certification? We will train and pay for you to obtain it, it’s on the house!

OR

EEC Lead Teacher certification.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:

  • Work Experience: 1 year of teaching experience required and some experience working with low-income individuals or families a plus.
