The Assistant Group Leader will be responsible for providing before school and after school care for children in CTI’s School Age Program. They will receive staffing assignments regarding daily curriculum, provide co-supervision to children in 1:13 ratio with a Group Leader, and act as a coach to the youth enrolled. $17.82 per hour.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for working at all school age sites as assigned.
• Provide supervision and safety of children. Maintain a daily group list and attendance.
• Recognize the child enrolled as an individual, helping children to develop as a member of the group.
• Present respectful communication and maintain standards for behavior through a positive approach.
• Assist in creating the weekly curriculum.
• Assist with daily activities and follow the daily curriculum plans and schedule, cannot be left alone with children.
• Maintain clean and organized workspaces that include setting up the daily spaces (i.e.: breaking down tables, rearranging the spaces and cleaning at the end of the day).
• Share concerns about children and families with Site Coordinator.
• Maintain confidentiality of children and families.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Evidence of physical exam within one-year prior to date of hire. Evidence of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella.
• Compliance with current EEC tuberculosis screening.
• Must have updated certification in CPR and First Aid, as required by EEC or obtained within two months of employment.
• Bi-lingual skills a plus.
• Must be enrolled in High School or GED equivalent.
• CORI/DCF review prior to employment.
